  1. I'm often asked what papers and embellishments we have available for making male cards and gifts PhotoGrid_1438690219196
as apparently it can be quite hard to find good materials for creating anything for men.
When this range of papers, die cuts and embellishments came out i was really please, it arrived
just in time for Fathers day and some of the sentiments are themed to this but the packs and the
individual items lend themselves well to be used to make all sorts of cards and gifts for men.

This card i created using the front cover page of the 'ultimate die cuts and paper pack', see even the
packaging can be used! I then used some of the die cuts to add sentiments and give it that extra special look. Some may think it looks a little cluttered but i like the layered effect on this card and i think i makes the card appeal to men with different interests. As i haven't put a specific sentiment on the card it is also suitable for different events such as birthdays or fathers day.

    Evening all,

The frame above was just a test frame really to see if the idea worked, and i'm pleased to say it did! The photo is of me and my friend Laura who is also my shop assistant, without her i don't know where i'd be! She really is a lovely friend and great team member! I really love the effect of decopatch paper on photo frames and after making this one i went on to make another with slightly different embellishments as pictured below. I really love the colours and i used embellishments from 'Natures Gallery' range of papers and die cuts which i think work great with the purple - If you hadn't already guessed purple is my nannas favourite colour!

I hope you like the photo frames, any questions on how i made these please give me a shout. I have created a step by step guide for decopatching which you can find here.

  3. I created a stepper card! (hopefully thats the right name) I'm pretty proud of myself, i've not made one before. I created it using a basic square card and folding it, then using a raised strip to keep the step up in place. The papers are from the 'Folk Floral' range available on the website

I even tried to make the card look nice when folded flat.

  4. Origami is something i've always loved the look of and wanted to try, i gave it a go recently and i'm pretty good at it.

This particular piece though was made by my partner Jon who is actually just as creative as me! He is brilliant with creative ideas and is working on some top secret projects at the moment that i hope to share with you soon. In the meantime here is a card i created using an origami flower he made for me. I added colours i felt blended well with the origami paper and a centre to the centre. I thought the gems to the edges also gave it a little something extra.

Please let me know what you think :-)

  5. As many of you know i have two sons, Reuben age 4 and Finley age 3. They enjoy arts and crafts as much as i do!

We spend a lot of time in my art room, exploring the arts & crafts using different materials and mediums. Reuben especially likes to try out different things that he hasn't used before. Below is a picture Reu created using oil pastels, he chose these after a good 10mins looking on the crafty shelves asking questions about the different mediums and materials. I have to say i was really impressed with his final piece, so much that i have framed it and hung it in our home!
