  1. It's nearly Christmas! xmas bags

Well OK, it is a few months away but for those of us who create most of our gifts and packaging
rather than buying it we start making early. I know some of you will have started even before me!

I began by making some cards as soon as the new xmas strock came in it was a strange feeling
creating xmas whilst the sun was beaming in the window!

These little fabric gift bags i made using fabric scraps, they are great for all sorts of gifts, i will
probably use them for sweets & treats.

They are really simple to make. I used a small scrap piece with a doggy picture on, layered that onto a nice red piece & then stitched onto a rectangle of plain fabric. I then made each piece into a simple gift bag & added matching ribbon!

  2. I'm often asked for age specific cards when in the shop so i decided to make PhotoGrid_1439044444709
a start on some. This one i created using Xcut butterfly dies, nature gallery papers
and of course gems. These beautiful colours shout summer to me. I like the natural wood number on this card, i might try painting up the
next one to see how it differs.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

  3. Today i spent the day organising my personal craft stash and getting creative.PhotoGrid_1439040277934
I got my X-Cut express out and tested out some dies, one of which was this beautiful
butterfly die. I really enjoyed playing around with die cutting, i don't get enough time
    to experiment usually.

I created this card with a mixture of different themed paper packs, Nature Gallery,
Folk Floral and another pack that i can't remember the name of right now! I also
used adhesive crochet border for the first time which gives a lovely texture.

I enjoyed creating this card, i hope you like it.

As always, all items are available to purchasing in our craft centre and online.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

  4. Recipe Challenge

I decided to enter my first 'Recipe challenge' this is a slightly more difficult challenge as you have to stick to specifics given for example in the challenge it requested

    1 Image, 2 shapes, 3 papers & 4 embellishments.

It can be quite hard at first to think of how to create something to such strict guidelines especially if you create cards the way i do just allowing creative flare to take over and be inspired by the items in front of you. In front of me when creating this one i had the 'Mister Mr' pack of ultimate papers and die cuts along with other bits and pieces.

I decided to use 3 papers one was a scrabble letters, i used this as a base. Then the crossword paper i used as a backing to my main area. The final paper was the orange striped paper which backs my image of a glass of beer. The shapes come in with the rectangle that creates the area for my wording and image and my second shape is the shape around the glass of beer. The 4 embellishments are simple flat black gems in the corners.

Hopefully the card fits the brief to the standards they were looking for but either way i enjoyed having a go at the different way of crafting cards, i think i'll give it another go with some other recipe challenges when i find some!
